A few fun facts…

I thought of 5 fun facts that might give you, dear readers, better insight into who I am…

1) I’m an 80’s baby, raised by Hippie parents on a remodeled WWII war ship that became home for me and my 4 older brothers and sisters.
2)I chose the name JustLissen because when I moved to DC for college there was this go-go band that I really loved: The Lissen Band. I saw them live a few times and they are just amazing. I still think I’m their biggest fan even though they fell off the radio. I also thought the name was a great way to incorporate my passion for music with my desire to be heard, et viola JustLissen was born!
3) I speak three languages English, French, and Russian. The foundation to articulate emotions in multiple languages inspires the spirit behind the posts; it simply seems that I have to have a phenomenal understanding of the English language before I can be proficient in any other language. So I’m constantly learning, growing, and starting over.
4) I’m in love with love. The idea of romance flutters my heart. Unfortunately I also see the bitter side of love. So I write about both. Mainly this is a journey… Who am I? Where am I going? And will I always be traveling alone?
5) You can find me most nights writing at BusBoy and Poets on 14th st… It’s one of my favorite spots in the city.

Since 5 is the number of Grace, I’m going to stop there. But if there’s anything you’d like to know simply send me an email. (under contact me!)
Keep reading, I’ll keep writing!
